Hello Lovelies!
Today I want to share a fun pocket page Scrapbooking trick with you all! I do monthly pocket page scrapbooking in my 9x12 album and one thing I love to do is decorate the outside pocket sleeves- I even make layouts over the pocket pages too!
So in today's post I will share some pictures and tips on how you can think outside the pocket page too!
so let's take a look at some examples!
In this first example, I added the photos on the inside page protect but all the decorative embellishments are on the outside!
This adds an interactive element to your albums--while you're flipping through the album you can stop and actually FEEL the page and what you put on it which creates a tactile experience!
I just love the look and feel it gives to my pages. It's also a great way to use up those bigger die cuts or ephemera you have in your stash!
When using embellishments that are more dimensional, like these Any Tangerine pieces, it's best to add them to the top of the page protector. Otherwise, they will make the page buckle and your photos/journaling cards won't sit flat if placed inside the pocket.
You can also add smaller embellishments like these glitter alphabet stickers using the
Xtreme Adhesive to the front of your pocket pages!
In this next example, I created a whole little layout that spans over 2 pockets on this page! This time I added the heart pattern paper on the inside pockets and all the stickers and photo of my mom and I on the top! Here's a closer look:
I absolutely love how this little layout turned out! And it's gives my album a break form all the same page configurations.
And my last tip, if you have die cuts that are embossed or have texture, it'll be a waste to put them in a pocket where you can't appreciate it. This middle floral piece is the perfect example, instead of adding it to the inside as my filler card, I used the
Xtreme Adhesive to add it to the top of the pocket!
I hope you enjoyed this pocket page scrapbooking tips and tricks post. I hope to have inspired you to try something new in your memory keeping albums!
Thanks for stopping by,
