SDC 150th Challenge!

Hello Lovelies!

I have a quick post today, I made this birthday card for a friend's birthday but I thought it would be fun to use my Stampotique stamps to recreate her family: her, her husband, and her 2 boys. I Decided to make an easel card simply because I haven't made one in a while.  I am entering this card into Stampotique's Celebration challenge for their 150th challenge! They are also looking to fill some guest designers spots with this challenge (wish me luck!).

I was contemplating wether or not to use a birthday sentiment but I had this project life card sitting on my desk so I decided to just go with that so I trimmed it and glued it down to the bottom section of the card. I think it's a fun sentiment to remember to enjoy and celebrate life!

I got a little messy with the background and used my Silks Acrylics Glazes on a piece of black and white patterned paper. I then hand drew a black and white border and used my super thin black and white washi tape to recreate that border all along the bottom half of the card. I think it turned out pretty cool.
I also used some heart blink and black enamel accents on the sentiment and on the little dots on the background and I used some enamel accents on their eyes as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Hi, Serena! Love your birthday card today showing off a family of "Stampotique-ers." A great way to honor your friend's family. I also like that you chose not to use a traditional sentiment for this occasion. I have a feeling this card will be on display all year 'round in her home! It's just perfect. Thanks so much for participating in the Stampotique Designers' Challenge this week!

    1. thank you so much Kay, that was what I was going for, something that isn't directly birthday related so they can display it if they'd like all year round. thank you so much for noticing that :)

  3. What a great card, Serena! I think the little family is a perfect idea. Kay is right. With these beautiful, bright colors and non-specific sentiment I bet she'll find a place to display this.
