PYG Challenge #2:A Snowman Can Survive Here

Hello Lovelies,

Feels like forever since I posted on here. But I am back today with yet another art journal share.
So for today's post I am excited to share my entry for the second PunkyouGirl Challenge for the month of July: Creepmas in July! Before I get to that, I just want to say WOW! We got such a great response for our first challenge and over 30 people participated. I just want to say thank you so much for everyone who played along and supported out very first challenge and our blog, means so much and I hope you all continue to play along.

This month we are sponsored by the lovely Lily Chilvers, the designer and owner of The Octopode Factory. And you all must already know by now that she is one of my favorite digi stamp designers so I am absolutely thrilled to have her support and sponsor our challenge for this month!! If you have not yet checked out her store, run along NOW you will not be disappointed. She also recently released her new Halloween Images called Gloomsville. I gotta pick up some of them, they are so cute!

For this challenge I created a new page in my Octopode Factory Storybook. I love that my storybook is coming along. For this page I was inspired by my weather. This summer has been lost, and I don't know where to find it. We have like one good day of sun and heat followed by five days of rain, cold, gloominess, and no sun! It is very sad. We are now in the second month of the summer and I have yet to wear shorts! It just so happened that when I made this page it was raining all day non-stop and was gloomy and so cold! So that is where the quote for this page came from, if there really was a snowman outside it probably would stand tall and not melt!

The background was already made and I just added some texture with a few stencils and some white gesso and that's all I did for the background. I colored the image with copics and added some Stardust stickles on both the snowman and the little birdie. The words were stamped with an alphabet set from Inkadinkadoo and I outlined it with white. I grounded the snowman and the bird with some smash book washi tape and my current favorite diamond washi tape. I also added some of it at the top and bottom of the page.

Here is a close up of the snowman:

Isn't this little birdie the cutest!

I will also be entering this page into the recent TOFF challenge which is summertime.

~Thanks for stopping by~
