Skull Appreciation day!

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Super excited today because I can cross something off of my crafty to do list today. I am part of my very first blog hop! And how fitting that it is a skull blog hop since some of you all know, I am a skull nut!  I am super excited to be part of this skull appreciation day blog hop hosted by Smeared and Smudged! And this hop is a good one! With 45 participants, you will have a ton of new skully inspiration for your crafting projects!!

And Smeared and Smudged are having some freebies along the way to make sure you look out for those.

So let's get to it!

This is my page. I used some of my new Stampotique Original stamps because I still didn't play with them yet. I added skull heads from a Dylusions stamp set on the characters. I was going for a skull family look. I think it turned out nice.

The background was already made, it's actually a stencil clean up page from another project I had previously worked on. I like cleaning off my stencils on other pages because they can set the stage for other pages such as this one did.

The sentiment says 'happy skull day' in celebration of Skull Appreciation Day!

But that's not all. I wanted to make another skully project for today. For this project I am going to enter it in the recent Dilly Beans Stamps challenge which is black and white. I think that theme is perfect for a skull page so that's what I did.

This page is more like a skull portrait. I didn't want to add a title or a sentiment.

I watercolored the background with grey paint and used a dylusions stencil to make the border. I used a Dilly Beans digi stamp which is a stack of  little skull heads but I crop the image down to 1 and resized it so it could be bigger.

I drew in the neck with black and white pens and outlined everything with a white gel pen.
I am also entering this page in the SimonSays challenge which is anything goes

I hope you enjoyed my projects!

Now don't forget to check out all these lovely participants. If you came from Fiona's blog then you are here with me, Serena and next up is Little Black Kitten.

  12. Fab projects, Serena! I especially love your background for your Stampotique journal spread! I clean my stencils off the same way, but usually I don't have as cool of a result as you've achieved. I love the skullies. One day I will own some of those stamps! Your Dilly Beans piece is cool as well...quirky and cute! Thanks for hopping and Happy Skull Appreciation Day!!!
