Sans Title

Hello Hello,

The other day I made another art journal page. I was just playing around with different paints and some new stencils that I bought and then everything just came together nicely. Here it is:

I had posted this picture on the Stampotique Originals Facebook page because I was stuck and wanted some advice.  I wanted to know if it ever happened to anyone else when they make a page and are not sure to leave it as is, sans title, or add some journaling. I wanted to hear other people's opinions on this topic. I received such an amazing response from everyone in the group. Many people loved my page and said things like "step away from the page" and "put your paintbrush down and walk away" I was so happy to hear what others thought and they helped me decide to keep it as is. Sometimes you don't always need to add journaling and you can let the page speak for itself. And let the viewers create a story or journaling for themselves. So I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who replied and for all your kind words.

I will be entering this in the new Stampotique challenge, "Anything but a card".

Thanks again!!

  1. Well, Serena, it appears you got good advice because I, too, love this journal page just as it is. I love all the texture in your background, and your color palette rocks! This is a winner!

  2. It is a great page Serena, it is difficult to know when to stop adding things sometimes. If I'm really stuck and scratching my head I leave what I'm working on for an hour or so and then look again with fresh eyes. Love seeing your work, have a great day xx

    1. Hello Samantha, thank you for stopping by! I agree, looking at something with new eyes helps a lot. sometimes I go away and eat a little something and sometimes I leave it for the next day and sleep on it. It usually helps. thank you for commenting on my facebook post about this page as well, means a lot!
